Debut
To the BC members, readers, Literature and English teachers, and all who like simple reads, I am proud to annouce the debut of my first short story.
It is title, "Little Star" and if I were to have a chance, I would be my own illustrator too. I wish to encourage EL and Lit teachers of elementary learners to take a read as I believe my level is very comfortable for young readers. In fact, you can encourage them, that this is what they are capable of achieving as well.
It is a little dream come true for me too. I had ever thought of being a writer too. Nonetheless, I did not pursue it for I am not capable of bombastic language. Then again, today, it is different. I finally have an avenue for my writing -- my blog.
I anticipate your support!

MERCI!
Would you folks consider an online book discussion sometime? But have to join as your member right? Librarians can be guest members or not? :)
Though we meet each other everyday, we don't discuss the book in-person. The only time to have a cuppa and yak would be the outing at the end of each book.
Do you mean you want to be part of Bookish Clubbers? If yes, you are most welcome to join our Bookish Clubbers on a book-basis. (we invite you lah) But you'd have to keep to the schedule like the rest of us lor...
Hi ivan, ours is an online book club. Not all of us work in the same place. (One of our members is a friend of mine - she joins in for the discussions but does not meet up with the rest)If you like, you can join us for this book. We are starting the round of discussions from the 29 jul. The only thing is we do need you to contribute periodically (at least 1 post and several comments a week)
ok, so how does one "join"? Like you'll email the group on the book, then get each one to post? Sorry, I slow lah : )
Will love to try and take part. Neat idea -- online bookclub.
Hi ivan, the book was 'voted' in after a round of nominations. If you look back at some back entries you'll see what i mean. So after the book was voted in, we all went out and get the book. As the book was nominated by Yaya, she's our chair for this book. She decides the schedule and dates (see sidebar). So for the first round of discussions, we will all post entries on chapters Mon & Tues from 29 Jul to 4th Aug. Entries can be thoughts, reflections, a quote, any responses you may have for those chapters. Everyone is encouraged not to read too far ahead and not to post entries ahead of schedule. The idea is so that we discuss as we read.
OH I forgot, we are all encouraged also to add comments to entries posted by others. Comments should be related to the theme/reflections for that entry. If its unrelated, it should be posted as an entry instead. Go look at our archives (especially May 2006) to get a better idea. We look forward to having you as a bookish clubber!
Yes Ivan...
Do leave us your email so that Shaz or I can send you an invitation to join our online bookclub.
Meanwhile, do get the book by Jodi Picoult! We are starting the first discussion this weekend! It's quite a smooth read filled with some wit.
Cheers.
